Google exist to discover, understand your website concept and organize the internet's content in order to offer the most relevant results to the queries searchers are asking.
Search Engines are also known as Answer Machines to all.
SEO works through three primary functions:
1. Crawling
2. Indexing
3. Ranking
I am going to explain about these topics of the following.
Crawling: This is the discovery process which search engines send out a team of Robots. It is also known as crawlers or spiders. Spiders helps to find a new and updated content in your website and your all webpages. It can be find an image, a video, a PDF doc and etc. It is the first process from google to crawl your webpages.
Indexing: Google will indexed your all webpages once it has been visited by the google crawler. It is the process to store all your files / webpages in the google index.
You can see all your indexed pages in Google Search Results. For example: Type site:domain.com in Google.
Ranking: When someone type any query / keyword, search engines find their index for highly relevant content for your query and then orders that content in the hopes of solving the user searcher's keyword. This ordering of search results by relevance is also known as ranking.
